Technology has infused education at all levels with new possibilities. Instructors can immediately assess how well hundreds of students are grasping key ideas, monitor progress at a distance, and encourage peer-to-peer and asynchronous learning. Still, technology is no magic bullet. When applied without cultural sensitivity or awareness of context, especially in low-resource settings, it may be ineffective or quickly abandoned. This panel will explore the opportunities and challenges presented by technology in a range of educational applications.
Panelists: Chris Bezsylko (AltSchool), John Denero (UC Berkeley), Armando Fox (UC Berkeley; MOOClab), and Katherine Kim (The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing)
